JudyJo’s Update from the Farm

The days are getting shorter, the black walnut trees are shedding their leaves, the sumac is starting to turn red; and this very day we have promise of the cooler temperatures of fall! We have been enjoying the extended season of flowers blooming and crops growing, but the chickens do not grow well in the heat! So we think they will be doing better now.

The turkeys are growing well. They are not big enough for us to let them stay out at night yet. They need to be too big for the predators to carry off! You may want to reserve yours soon.

The cattle are glad to follow where Jim leads them to fresh pasture. We will have one more beef processing day this year, for bulk and for farm sales of parts. Let us know if you’re interested in a whole or half beef.

This season, we are benefiting from our enthusiastic intern, Isaiah Graves! We will probably share more about him later. All our workers (and customers) are great! We appreciate you all.

IN SPRINGFIELD + ROLLA…

Our customers have been so very encouraging during this season of health challenges for me. I really appreciate all your cards, emails, prayers, and messages through Jim (he tries to remember them all!) So I am planning to drive to Springfield for the September 26 delivery at the Second Baptist Church. My regrets to my Rolla friends, but I just won’t be able to do both at this time. I’ll be driving our van to Springfield, and that will about do me in! I hope I can make it. I hope you can, too! It would be great to see you again. Of course, I understand if you can't make it.

In any event, have a great fall!

Blessings,

JudyJo
