On Our Farm

The turkey poults arrived to their new surroundings on our farm on Tuesday morning. If the truth be known, they would prefer that the weather would be a little hotter. They are already very friendly, as you can see from these two, who just had to know more about that camera.

On the other hand, the cattle are seeking out the shade in the hottest part of the day.

You may not know from the name of our company, Peace Valley Poultry, that we also finish beef on grass. We have been doing this for the last 15 years. The current group of steers just finished grazing a patch of summer annuals that we planted.

The first of this group we expect to harvest in early September. The price will be $1.40/lb. live weight.  Added to this is the processing fee, which is about $170 for a half beef. The initial deposit is $200, which goes toward the total price.

We also are planning to have one or two processed under inspection so that we can sell by the piece instead of by the half or whole.

Email or call us for details if you are interested.

Fresh chicken sales

Our next fresh chicken sales will be on August 9 and 10. Until then, you may purchase them frozen at the farm, or fresh or frozen at one of the fine stores that carry our chicken products, (see the bottom of the locations tab on our website).
