First June selling dates
Chicken Hoop Houses
This is an aerial view of our hoop houses. They are moved daily, giving the chickens fresh pasture and new insects to feast upon, in addition to the non-GMO feed that we mix for them. You can see how at the same time, the chickens improve the pasture that they graze on. We have found that cattle and goats prefer to feed on grassland where the chickens have enriched the soil. As you probably know, chickens raised on pasture produces a meat that people prefer, as well.
On Our Farm
Surely you've noticed it. I can't believe I haven't mentioned it here on our blog. It's the morning concert! How we delight to hear the morning chorus of the songbirds as we contemplate the day ahead. First one bird will break forth into joyful song. Then more and more join the first until the full masterpiece is being sung. There is such a range of tones and variety of types of song, and how it all joins together in joyful celebration is such a miracle. Today the robin had the solo.
