Mid-season update
Right now we are in the middle of the 40 days of Dog Days. (That’s when it’s extremely hot.) We are hoping you are protected from the summer heat, and are able to stay hydrated, as well as encouraged. As we know, fall will come. Please take care of yourself, you are important.
We are working on designing and implementing a new order form and reminder system! It should be easier to order, and you will receive an email as well as a text confirmation and reminder. Try it out and let us know what you think!
ON OUR FARM
Jim has been successful at keeping the chickens and beef protected from the summer heat. The rains have brought pastures that are greener than we might have imagined for late July. Although it is definitely hot, there is even a breeze today. The chickory and black-eyed susans are still blooming, and my little trees are putting on new growth (red bud, pine, and sour cherry). Some birds are still nesting, many still come to the feeders, and those cheerful martins are still with us.
We are excited that tomorrow we will be picking up this year’s turkeys! We have their new quarters all prepared and are looking forward to them coming. Then we will be giving them the best of care until they are ready to come to your home in November.
Turkey poults in the brooder!
Once again, I want to thank all of you for your support and encouragement through the years. Also, you can’t imagine what wonderful workers we have, who also truly want your meat to be of the best quality. And the wonderful crew doing all the behind-the-scenes work to make sure you get the cuts you want in the easiest manner possible.
