Cool breezes, green pastures, flowers here and there, the joyful song of a bird, with the background chirping of crickets -- all work together to make a pleasant transition into fall. Not to mention cool nights that are better to sleep in!

The chickens enjoy this weather, also!

The average longevity of a pastured poultry business is probably five years or less. This is our 21st year (thus the 21 things you may not know about Peace Valley Poultry). One reason we have persisted where others have quit is having adequate labor to help with processing. We are  blessed with a pool of dedicated and efficient workers who really care about producing a quality product. Try running a business where you ask workers to show up at 6:30 a.m. one day a week, and you quickly realize the staffing challenges. Our workers are an integral part of our success, and we truly appreciate them.

By the Way -- Beef

We have researched our past beef prices, and it looks like this fall's offering of $1.40/ lb. live weight (=$2.33/lb. hanging weight) is the cheapest our beef prices have been since 2012.

Other Fresh Chicken Sales

Our next fresh chicken sales on the farm and in Springfield will be on September 13 and 14. Until then, you may purchase them frozen at the farm, or fresh or frozen at one of the fine stores that carry our chicken products, (for a list of these stores, see the bottom of the locations tab on our website Location Link).
