Packages of grass fed beef for sale soon, free samples

IMG_6401On Our Farm

Last Monday night we stopped shutting the turkeys up at night. They were getting too big to all fit in the hoop house. So far no great predator loss. The guardian dogs seem to sense their responsibility better this year. We will see ...

The cooler temperatures seem to be a relief to both man and beast. Also it is interesting listening to the changes in the  night and daytime sounds as fall progresses, and smelling the fragrance of fall.

#11 of 21 Things You May Not Know about Peace Valley Poultry

Since I missed blogging last week, you may think I'm running out of things to write about on our farm. Actually the problem is narrowing down all the ideas.

Beef is on my mind because we will be picking up our first inspected beef this week. (that means we can sell by the piece instead of half or whole carcasses.)

Allen Williams is arguably the most articulate grass fed meat person in the US.

Click on the link to read his rebuttal to “status quo feed lot beef” https://grassfedexchange.com/blog/can-we-produce-grass-fed-beef-at-scale and if it piques your interest, we have free samples of grass finished ground beef.

Dr. Williams also says published scientific studies clearly state positive benefits for grassfed in terms of key nutritional components.

“Meat, eggs, and dairy products from pastured animals are ideal for your health. Compared with commercial products, they offer you more "good" fats, and fewer "bad" fats. They are richer in antioxidants; including vitamins E, beta-carotene, and vitamin C. Furthermore, they do not contain traces of added hormones, antibiotics or other drugs.” (Eat Wild http://www.eatwild.com/healthbenefits.htm )
